The Bligh government is giving $156,000 to Advance Sports Sunshine Coast. These funds are to be used over three years to support regional sports groups. These include rugby league, rugby union, cricket, soccer, AFL, golf and lawn bowls. The funding for Advance Sports is part of Toward Q2, an initiative to get Queenslander residents to exercise more. Additionally $20 million is available for sports and recreation clubs looking to upgrade or build facilities. July 25th is the deadline to apply for those funds.
