Duties & Responsibilities
With an eye towards creating a championship caliber program, and with a commitment to student-athlete success both on the athletic field and in the classroom, you will lead and manage all aspects of a Division I women's intercollegiate Rugby program. You will coach and develop student athletes; plan and direct the overall training strategy for the program; establish practice, training and competition schedules; oversee strength and conditioning of the athletes; develop and implement a student athlete recruiting strategy; spearhead fundraising efforts and alumni engagement; and supervise Assistant Coaches .
Bachelor's degree required. At least 3 years' experience playing and/or coaching rugby.
Outstanding technical, tactical and strategic knowledge of rugby. Strong leadership, interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to work with and relate well to a diverse group of athletes, administrators, and University constituents. Must be able to establish yourself as a respected coach to students, University administration and faculty, alumni, and media representatives. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and a database. Basic video filming, editing and analytical ability.
The ideal candidate is smart and willing to work hard. You should also have strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to work independently. Able to respect and comply with guidelines set forth by Harvard, the Ivy League, and the NCAA. Valid drivers' license required.
A DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) check is required because you will be driving student-athletes during out-of-town travel.
Ability and willingness to work in extreme weather conditions (heat, rain, cold).
