DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

This individual will conduct tennis classes for children ages 4-18 at neighborhood park sites, community centers, and schools. Keep accurate records regarding student registration and participation and all other paperwork as required. Provide positive role models for youth, promoting healthy, active, and structured environment. Demonstrate consistency, responsibility, enthusiasm, and commitment to students and families involved in the program. Maintain and operate programs, equipment, and facilities in a safe and responsible manner. Assist in marketing, design, and implementation of tennis, education and community service programs as part of the National Junior Tennis and Learning network. Work independently while aware of team goals and objectives.

WORKING CONDITIONS

The position occasionally requires stooping or bending. Occasional very light lifting, such as three or four reams of papers or books (up to 20 pounds or an equivalent weight) may be required. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Requires a high school diploma or a GED.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Three months of related experience are required.

MINIMUM LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

Must have a valid Texas Driver's License and comply with the City of Houston's policy on driving (AP 2-2). PREFERENCES
**Preference shall be given to eligible veteran applicants provided such persons possess the qualifications necessary for competent discharge of the duties involved in the position applied for, such persons are among the most qualified candidates for the position, and all other factors in accordance with Executive Order 1-6.** GENERAL INFORMATION
