The YMCA of Muncie, IN is seeking a seasoned tennis professional to take over for our retiring Tennis Director.
Our Y tennis center consists of 6 indoor tennis courts. Our tennis department provides youth & adult group lessons, youth & adult private lessons, adult leagues, seasonal court time, and match play. Additionally, we partner with the local University to provide indoor space for their tennis teams and outdoor space for some of our summer programs.

Develop a comprehensive tennis program that continues to grow and impact the community at a prestigious level.
Interpret and communicate the objectives and programs of the YMCA to the community through public communication media and participate actively in community organizations.
Recruit, foster, and utilize volunteers to advocate for the tennis program and maintain a strong community presence.
Oversee tennis equipment and courts to ensure proper use, efficiency, and maintenance.
Supervise tennis instructors and Tennis Coordinator, and provide continued evaluations of their performance.
Supervise all tennis programming to ensure that budgeted department net is met.
Assist and cooperate with supervisors and other staff to include tennis as a component of overall center programming.
Provide fun, active, educational programs that help participants develop their tennis skills and encourage them to continue.
Increase and maintain program enrollment through communication, procedure, and quality.
Participate in the annual fundraising campaign and conduct a fund-raising event(s) working with staff and volunteers within the Tennis Department.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Management Staff.
Provide excellent member service and follows membership retention practices of the branch, including responding to inquiries/concerns in timely manner, being courteous and giving sincere attention to members, providing positive and regular feedback to program participants, knowing individual's names and using their names when speaking to members.
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Recreation Management, Physical education or related field.
A minimum of two years of program management experience.
A minimum of two years tennis instruction experience.
Proven ability to create and manage a set program budget.
Proven success in building public relationships within the community and with USTA.
NTRP rating required.
USPTA certified tennis professional preferred.
New Employee Orientation, Child Abuse Prevention, and Blood borne Pathogens within 30 days of employment. Child Abuse Prevention and Blood borne Pathogens to be refreshed every 12 months.
Certification requirements include CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid and Oxygen Administration with recertification as required.
