The Wild Dunes Recreation Attendant focuses on facilitating all aspects of Recreation in the hospitality industry.
Daily shifts are worked in the recreation department including the swim center, beach services, kids camps, and activities.
The Recreation Attendant will communicate with the following departments: Sales and Marketing, Conference Services, Concierge, Food and Beverage, Property Management, Hotel Operations, Front Desk, Golf and Tennis.

The Recreation Attendant shall strive to provide exceptional service to both internal and external guests at all times. S/he will be responsible for exemplifying the Wild Dunes Resort Culture as well as promoting Wild Dunes Resort as both the Destination and Employer of Choice!
Essential job FUNCTIONS:
Making reservations, ticketing and arranging transportation of excursions including:
and sailing, fishing, eco-tours, wildlife exploration, extreme water sports and crabbing excursions
Seasonal, holiday, and corporate event planning and facilitation
Assist supervisors, Island Adventures Outfitters store as well all other Recreation outlets
Program planning and facilitating our family crafts and other activities throughout the resort
Camp Counselor – program planning, organizing, staffing and sign up for children programs ages 5-12 and teen programs ages 13-17
Order supplies maintain inventory for camp
Maintenance and upkeep of camp area
Special program planning for holiday and seasonal needs
Assist with booking swim lessons and aerobics for guests and members
Supervise pool area which includes opening/closing duties, check-in, maintenance and upkeep
Being flexible to work in every area of the recreation department
Associate is held accountable for all duties of this job and other duties as assigned.
eXPERIENCE & eDUCATION:
Minimum 1 year experience in customer service
Previous program and planning of activities at a resort preferred, but not required
Previous experience in a camp-like setting is preferred
Pool operation experience preferred
Previous experience supervising children is preferred
Must be a United States citizen or possess a valid work permit
Valid Driver’s License
CPR certification preferred
Ability to work with children of all ages
Must be able to read, write and speak English
Must be able to work well under pressure
Must be able to accurately follow instructions, both verbally and written
Must be highly detailed orientated
Must be able to work in a fast paced environment
Must have excellent listening skills
Must possesses excellent communication skills
Must be professional in appearance and demeanor
Must always ensure a teamwork environment
Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and holidays
Must have the ability to deal effectively and interact well with the guests and associates
Must have the ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
Must have a passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests

Must be able to stand & walk throughout the day, including on uneven surfaces
Must be able to work in a warm or cold environment, including walking outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, heat), with exposure to chemicals and dust.
Must be able to frequently lift, push, pull & carry up to 25 lbs and occasionally up to 75 lbs
Must be able to bend, squat, & twist on an occasional basis
Must be able to perform simple grasping, squeezing, and repetitive hand & arm movements frequently; and fine manipulation occasionally.
