This position is responsible for departmental duties as well as show specific duties in the SPIKE Sports and Specials division.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor delivery requirements to ensure compliance with production guidelines Insure production companies are on schedule
Write show logs, cue sheets and episode log lines for productions
Organize formats for show production and post-production
Read scripts and storyboards and collaborate on notes with EIC
Watch rough cuts and support department with notes as necessary
Work with dept. head to maximize production value, brand values and diversity on productions
Assist EICs in communicating airdate and programming info to productions
Liaison closely with press on time-sensitive projects
Liaison with Programming on delivery schedules
Review external pitches for inclusion in regular pitch meetings
Act as point person on specific projects
Manage all ancillary activity including routing materials for approval
Supervise coordinators/assistants as projects warrant
Partner with HR to find/hire interns, and develop project plan and manage interns on handling their responsibilities
Various project work as needed
Manage incoming and outgoing tapes for titles airing throughout the year
Address quality control issues between producers and NOC
Notify producers of scheduling changes, preemptions and work with Programming to reschedule as appropriate
Assure that stipulations in contracts are followed through, both by the producer and the network
Review each show prior to air for content, quality and broadcast standards; check timing forms to insure segment times match time codes
Insure that air masters and back-ups arrive at NOC and tape library in a timely manner
Work with programming to issue digital server ID numbers to producers
Liaison with Programming on delivery schedules
Address any general changes in format, graphics elements or other revisions with the producers and assure they are followed through to network standards
Work closely with programming to clarify and update production guidelines
Exhibit leadership qualities-externally with outside vendors/producers and internally with staff (subordinates) and interns
Successfully manage the production of a newly created series and/or special
Grow knowledge of digital platforms as MTVN/Spike expands into these growing forms of distribution
Take on a new challenge to further expand your capabilities
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree with 5-8 years of relevent media experience
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Sports & Live Action experience highly desired
