The clinical athletic trainer is responsible assisting with all aspects of the Sports Medicine program through daily operations, community outreach, injury prevention programming, research, and coordination of care.
Develops professional relationships with their patients and families to become a valued member of their health care team, and continually look for ways to improve the quality of their clinical and rehabilitative services.
relationships with local sports programs (both school and community based), assistance with marketing events, coordination of clinical care for sports medicine patients throughout the NCH system, assistance with administrative reports, evaluation of patients for rehabilitation, administration of therapeutic treatment, documentation of evaluation results and progress, and education of patients and parents on treatment goals.
The care shall be provided in a manner that promotes quality, continuity, and safe patient care.
Demonstrates competencies defined in ‘Principal Duties and Responsibilities’ in providing age appropriate care to patients from the age of birth through 21 years and select adult patients, with a primary focus of the middle and high school ages.
Communication and leadership skills to plan, organize, and coordinate sports medicine activities and patient care programs.
Interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, parents, external contacts, and all levels of hospital staff and to maintain confidentiality of information.
Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a sports medicine setting.
Bachelor‘s degree in athletic training or related field.
NATA certification and current Ohio AT license required.
CPR certification preferred.
CSCS or PES certification preferred.
