JOB SUMMARY/PRIMARY PURPOSE
The Aquatic Coordinatoris responsible for the development, growth, and daily operations of Aquatic and Recreational programming. Included are the ongoing supervision and oversight of staff, participants and volunteers in all programs related to aquatics.
Programming RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, direct and guide programming for toddler, youth, and adult swim lessons and recreation with the goal ofincreasing participation, satisfaction, and revenue. Work with staff and senior management to insure a safe Aquatic environment for all. Manage programming including: schedules, curriculum, and fees. Coordinate ongoing training and certification for staff, instructors, and volunteers as necessary for the successful execution of aquatic programming. Substitute in any of these roles as required.
Administrative RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor and maintain all facilities, supplies, and equipment related to Aquatic programs. Communicate with management and facilities dept. Keep accurate records of repairs and preventative maintenance. Complete chemical records, accident and incident reports making chemical adjustments when necessary. Serve as a community liaison between the Kroc Center and community groups, developing cooperative ventures that engage the community and groups in the development of Aquatic programs. Assist in identifying revenue streams to support new and current needs. Provide requested support to the Aquatic Manager for the development of the annual budget. Submit reports and maintain records, invoices, collections, and evaluations of program areas. Follow and ensure adherence to **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Policies and Procedures. Maintain clear communication with staff, volunteers, and program participants including the development of memos, schedules, flyers, etc.. Work with marketing and Aquatics management in the promotion of the Aquatic programming, making sure procedures are in place to facility programs. (I.e. activenet forms, room usage requests, internal scheduling and communications etc.) Provide and/or participate in designated staff training and professional development courses as required.
supervisory RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in coordinating and conducting regular staff meetings for all Aquatic team members. Coordinate and implement monthly in-service trainings. Provide direct supervision over staff, instructors, volunteers, etc... Recruiting and scheduling of volunteers. Make schedules and review time keeping reports for staff and make sure that they maintain schedules and are processing time exception reports, absence reports, vacation requests, etc. Direct supervision of the Aquatics Assistant and lifeguards, to comply with the State Department regulations, and making sure guards are in their proper stations in a timely fashion. Coordinator must be flexible with His/Her time management and must be prepared to spend whatever time necessary to complete successful programming. This would include instructing swimming lessons.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Recreation, Sports Administration, or related field preferred. Training and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Must have and remain current in certifications such as American Red Cross Lifeguard, Nebraska Pool Operator’s License, Certification and/or ability to obtain Lifeguard Instructor Trainer, Water Safety Instructor, and Water Fitness Instructor preferred. 3 years experience in developing and planning Aquaticfacilities and programs including; budget development, competitive recreation, and competition bracketing. Proficient in Microsoft programs including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Publisher. Valid Nebraska or Iowa driver’s license, and qualify under TSA driving regulations. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds. Ability to relate to and supervise staff and participants of varying educational and cultural backgrounds. Experience in supervising staff and volunteers, conduct training and provide problem resolution. Must fully support the Christian mission of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***..
SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
Exempt position, minimum work week is 40 hours. Schedule varies and will include evenings, weekend, and holiday hours. The work environment will vary and will include exposure to indoor and outdoor areas throughout the year. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. The work environment will include heat & humid conditions in nature.
