Faulkner University is seeking a qualified individual to serve as Sports Information Assistant. This individual, under the direction of the Director of Sports Information, is responsible for team statistical data entry, department press releases, website content and game day coverage. The selected candidate works closely with the Director on promotional material content and coordinating on-campus media events, as well as providing public address services and play-by-play commentary for department broadcasts. This is a full-time, 12-month position. This position is funded and will begin as soon as the qualified candidate is found. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. Summary of Duties: * Serve as the athletic department's sports information liaison to all outside organizations * Ensure all team information is entered into the NAIA-required Dakstats software by prescribed deadlines * Responsible for training interns assisting with statistical entry for all simultaneous sports events * Responsible for media content publishing and distribution * Utilizing AP style, produce press releases regarding all sporting events, as well as athlete, staff and team achievements, national rankings, etc., for local and national media, the department's website, respective athletic conferences and the NAIA * Provide text and statistical content for various department promotional materials * Enter content on the athletic department website including, but not limited to, rosters, schedules, scores and biographical information * Coordinate game day audio schedules with the department's live event audio source (Neptune Audio); this includes scheduling broadcast start and stop times and providing script content to be announced during the event * Provide pregame public address services including announcements, starting lineups and the opening invocation at various sporting events as needed * Provide play-by-play audio commentary during live streaming for sporting events as needed Position Requirements * Bachelor's degree required * Two years of related experience required, a minimum of five years preferred * Extensive working experience with Dakstats, including live entry for all sports, required * Active members of the church of Christ will be given priority consideration Required Documents Applicants will need to submit the following documents during the application process. * Resume \u2022 A letter of interest (include a statement of church affiliation and acceptance of University values) \u2022 A list of at least three professional references with telephone and email contact information \u2022 A summary of qualifications consistent with the position \u2022 Copies of all academic transcripts Non-discrimination statement: Faulkner University is a church-affiliated liberal arts institution committed to employing a highly qualified and diverse administration, faculty and staff, which reflects the University's religious traditions, values and affiliation, and purpose.
