Valid Professional Educator License in Secondary (6-12) Education with a Middle School Endorsement

Physical Education/Health Endorsement

\r

Effective oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to read, learn and interpret rules and regulations

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships

JOB GOAL

Provides a positive, safe and academically challenging learning environment for all students through the use of district approved curriculum. Develops strength, skill, agility and coordination in individual, dual and team physical activities and sports, in accordance with each student’s ability.

Plans long-range lessons, units and projects consistent with the established curriculum as defined by law and the learning objectives of the school district

Uses the available materials and equipment

Remains current in research as it applies to both subject matter and pedagogy

Understands the typical developmental characteristics of the age group, as well as exceptions to the general patterns

\r

Seeks and applies opportunities for collaboration to enhance instruction and student learning

\r

Has a predetermined plan to assess whether presented material is understood using a variety of assessment techniques and uses the results to plan for future instruction of students

\r

Provides clear plans for a substitute teacher and has a substitute folder available with appropriate artifacts.

\r

Works cooperatively with other physical education teachers in planning a balanced physical education program

\r

\r

Classroom Environment:

Supervises volunteers and paraprofessionals in the classroom

Enforces classroom and school rules or procedures, Board policies and regulations
