Lankenau Medical Center has a part time 20 hour/week
position for an Athletic Trainer!
Maintains established departmental policies and
procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and
infection control standards. 1,2,3,4
Acts as liaison between athlete, physician,
coach, parents, and rehabilitation staff.
Educates athletes and coaches about the care
and prevention of athletic injuries.
Acts within code of ethics by NATA. 5
Manage the injured athlete(s) while acting as
liason between the athlete, coaches, parents, and administrators as well as any
other professionals (MD, DO, EMS, etc.)
present to assist with care to the injured athlete.
Independent game coverage, monitor all levels
of injury ranging from minor to severe. Be able to make independent decisions
about the ability to safely return to sports activity.
Independent ability to manage ancillary staff,
student trainers, coaches, and athletes in the all aspects of sports medicine
within the athletic trainer’s scope of care.
Provides rehabilitation on athletes as ordered
by the physician Prepare an individualized plan or care using the specialized
rehabilitation techniques obtained during the educational process to obtain
national credentialing. 1,4
Maintains the training room with regard to
cleanliness, ordering supplies, etc.
Maintains medical records including injury
reports, insurance information, and other departmental records required. 4
Participates in educational programs and
inservice meetings. 3
Attends meetings as required. 4
Prevention, recognition, evaluation and
immediate care, rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries. 1,2
Performs other related duties as assigned or
CPR – First Aid Certified- professional rescuer. 5
REQUIRED: Bachelor’s Degree
from NATA approved
Curriculum or internship program
REQUIRED: preferred but not
REGISTRATION/LICENSURE/ BOC Certified, Pa State
License or eligible,
REQUIRED: CPR Certified

of 20 pounds occasionally and frequent lifting of up to 10 pounds. (N.B. Certain light-duty jobs may require
continuous sitting and may also entail consistent use of either hand or foot
Medium Work: Requires standing and/or walking 6
hours out of an 8-hour day with lifting a maximum of 50 pounds occasionally and
frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds.
Heavy Work: Requires
standing and/or walking greater than 6 hours out of an 8-hour day with lifting
