Summary of Duties and Responsibilities
The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. Athletics Department is accepting applications for an Assistant Men’s Wrestling Coach. The successful candidate will assist the Head Coach with all phases of the NCAA Division I program including planning practice sessions and competitive coaching situations; identifying and successfully recruiting academically qualified and athletically talented student-athletes; effectively teaching, mentoring and coaching to develop well-rounded student-athletes; and ensuring academic progress and graduation. The Assistant Coach will also perform administrative duties, with a commitment to adhering to university, Big 12 Conference and NCAA policies, procedures, and regulations. Will contribute to and enhance a competitive athletic experience. Will establish and maintain an environment conducive to the welfare and academic success of the student-athletes. Will establish and maintain effective interactions with the university community, alumni, media and the public.
This position requires an excellent work ethic along with exceptional motivational, teaching/coaching and communication skills. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body. Requires the ability to travel extensively including overnight stays for recruiting and competitions.
Required Education and Experience
Experience coaching or competing in wrestling at a highly competitive level.
Preferred Education and Experience
Successful NCAA Division I wrestling experience.
Experience coaching wrestling at collegiate, international, or elite level.
Experience recruiting and coaching highly skilled student-athletes.

This position is subject to compliance with the NCAA’s IAWP legislation which defines an individual associated with a prospective student-athlete (IAWP) as any person who maintains (or directs others to maintain) contact with the prospective student-athlete, the prospective student-athlete’s relatives or legal guardians, or coaches at any point during the prospective student-athlete’s participation in men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and/or football and whose contact is directly or indirectly related to either the prospective student-athlete’s athletic skills and abilities or the prospective student-athlete’s recruitment by or enrollment in an NCAA institution. This definition includes, but is not limited to, parents, legal guardians, handlers, personal trainers and coaches. A violation occurs if an IAWP is employed by the institution and, at the time of employment, a student-athlete who enrolled at the institution in the previous two years (and remains enrolled at the institution) was a prospective student-athlete by which the individual meets the definition of an IAWP. A violation also occurs if an IAWP is employed and, within two years after such employment, a prospective student-athlete by which the individual meets the definition of an individual associated with a prospective student-athlete enrolls as a full-time student in a regular academic term at the institution.
