Salary: Starts at $13.00 to $18.00 per hour
Location: City Center; off-site for programs as required
Reporting Relationship: Reports to Sr. Recreation Supervisor
The Recreation Services Division has the responsibility for managing all recreation facilities and providing a variety of affordable recreation programs and services for all age groups and people of all abilities. The staff in this division are responsible for the management of facilities such as the Community Center, the Senior Center, and the Outdoor Center, as well as all other City park buildings and recreation facilities such as swimming beaches, sledding hill, amphitheater and facilities on school property that are operated in partnership with the School District such as the Oak Point Pool and tennis courts at CMS.
The Recreation Teen Coordinator is a Program Instructor III responsible for directly overseeing participants in the Leaders in Training program by teaching various job skills and recreational activities to the teens. The position also oversee the Teen Adventure Camp. The primary position responsibilities and areas of impact are:
Plans weekly meetings to teach leadership and future job skills to teens.
Develops program plans and facilitates group activities for the LIT's.
Programs the Teen Adventure Camp and works with the site lead and counselors to implement.
Plans and supervises weekly recreational program trips.
Manage site placements and evaluation of teen leader participants.
Prepares year end program and budgeting report for Sr. Recreation Supervisor Development.
While these areas are the primary focus of the position, we believe strongly in teamwork and employees will be called upon to perform a variety of duties as a part of their role with the City.
Education: Minimum of two years of post high school education in a related field required.
Work Experience: Minimum of two years working with teens; experience developing and implementing programs and activities preferred; previous job enrichment experience preferred.
