**Advertised Summary Job Description**
The Assistant Director for Athletics Development and Stewardship assists in managing the athletics annual fund in partnership with Annual Fund Programs, coordinates Athletics stewardship efforts, assists with Athletics volunteer and recognition programs, including the Varsity C Club and the Women's Leadership Council in partnership with Athletics Department staff, aids in supporting Athletics events and programming, and coordinates strategic reporting and analytics for the unit.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to;
-Works closely with the Director of Athletics Development and Annual Fund Programs on creating and implementing an annual fund strategy; coordinates plans around direct mail, email, and telemarketing and manage annual fund coordination with Office of Alumni & Development colleagues
-Manages Athletics stewardship initiatives, both one-time and ongoing, including the design and implementation of recognition plans for leadership and loyalty giving programs.
-Manages Athletics Development's e-marketing strategy and other electronic platforms, including the microsite.
-Manages the departments' communications with Gift Systems, the Advance Database System, and other Columbia Athletics and Office of Alumni & Development colleagues.
-Manages sport program annual fund gift tracking and reporting process
-Creates and manages communication plans and presentations for select meetings and events.
-Manages the student worker program.
-Supports the Director of Athletics Development around annual and major gift solicitations and manages Giving Day strategy and implementation with the Director of Athletics Development.
-Assist with Athletics volunteer groups, including the Varsity C Club, in partnership with Athletics Department staff; solicits volunteers, and helps volunteer solicitors to raise gifts (to The Fund for Excellence and to sports programs) from key populations.
-Supports Athletics events and programming, collaborating with both development and alumni relations partners.
-Assists with developing, managing and executing select strategic plan initiatives
-Staffs Athletics Events and sports program events, as determined by the Director, Intercollegiate Athletics and Physical Education and the Director, Athletics Development.
-Assists with managing the department's annual budget.
-Solicits Athletic annual gifts from alumni, alumnae, parents, friends and fans.
-Assisting with developing, managing and executing select strategic plan initiatives.

**Minimum Qualifications for Grade**

**Applicant** **MUST** **meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant**
Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent required. Minimum of 2-3 years' related experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience, required. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Weekend and evening work is required.

Prior knowledge and experience with the Advance database application preferred. Understanding of the mission and purpose of institutions of higher education is strongly preferred.
