Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and three years of related experience. Candidates must have a proven track record of sales performance and development activities, preferably in sports with corporate clients. It is preferred that candidates have experience selling print advertising, web advertising and broadcast air time. Experience closing sales is required. Candidates must have a valid Florida Driver’s License.


This position reports to the Dean of Health, Wellness and Intercollegiate Athletics, and will also work collaboratively with WDSC-15, the DSC Foundation and Marketing Department. The Manager is responsible for generating and meeting fund-raising, underwriting and revenue goals. The employee will sell advertising banners for the various sports venues, and stadium packages that include scoreboard advertisements, TV sponsorships, game sponsorships, digital banners, print ads, public address recognition, digital banner recognition in the Lemerand Center to support the overall ten Intercollegiate Athletic sports teams and their activities. This position will also help organize and set-up special events tied to sponsorships, create and file all correspondence and contracts for the accounts sold. Employee will work with the WDSC-15 production department and/or Marketing Department to help create video for broadcast air, websites and/or print media as necessary. The employee is responsible for raising awareness of the (10) Falcon sports teams by crafting typical sports information news and player bios for the website and local news media, as well as building a social media fan base. There will be times when the employee is expected to attend Intercollegiate Athletic or special events outside of normal business hours. In addition, travel to and participation in events both within and outside the serving district will be required. The employee will be the first point of contact for Intercollegiate Athletics with the Marketing Department to help market DSC Athletics with a sponsorship program for the new WDSC-TV show, produced in part by student in the Associate of Science in Broadcast Production degree. This position will coordinate with Intercollegiate Athletics, WDSC-15, Marketing and the DSC Foundation and attend or conduct staff meetings to exchange information related to the work required in this position.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

The employee must have good organizational skills, must be a skilled independent worker, and possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. The ability to develop and meet goals is required. Applicant must also have knowledge of computers, peripherals and software programs such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access. Employee must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and be flexible in order to match the demands of this position. Employee must be able to take direction as well as work effectively and professionally on their own. Employee must be able to lift over 20 pounds on a recurring basis.

The minimum starting salary is $41,400.

Minimal additional compensation may be granted for education and/or experience exceeding the minimum stated job requirements. This is at the sole discretion of Daytona State College.
