Officials at Carolina theme park Carowinds say about 3,400 people have applied for jobs at the amusement park, triple the usual number for this time of year.
Carowinds says the park usually has 1,000 applications by February for the 2,100 temporary summer jobs at the park, located on the North Carolina and South Carolina state line just south of Charlotte.
The jobs usually attract college students, but this year they are seeing older job seekers. They have even had people with MBAs, and they aren’t just applying for high-end work.
The amusement park has positions available not only selling food and taking tickets, but also in security, human resources and safety.
